Description: We have an opening at the JCC for a part time Program Coordinator for Active Adults. This position is a collaboration between our Helene Mirowitz Center for Jewish Community Life and B’nai B’rith St. Louis Missouri Lodge. This opportunity is 18 hours per week and requires some flexibility to attend and cover program events.

Responsibilities:

•Plan and implement new cultural and adult activities for the Jewish community targeted to adults in their 50’s and beyond with a focus on activities with Jewish content. Activities would primarily be at the Jewish Community Center, possibly to include Jewish lecture series at the JCC, visual art workshops and lectures, Jewish travel experiences, and other similar types of Jewish cultural/educational programming.

•Coordinate functions for B’nai B’rith St. Louis Missouri Lodge, including manage the B’nai B’rith roster/database and monthly newsletter, plan four yearly Bnai Brith dinner programs in partnership with B’nai B’rith Board, organize B’nai B’rith volunteers for special programs and events.

•In collaboration with JCC marketing staff, plan and implement a strategy to recruit participants to these new programs and activities.

•Collaborate with JCC cultural arts staff and other appropriate JCC staff to insure that new program offerings leverage existing programs such as New Jewish Theater, Jewish Book Festival, and Jewish Film Festival where appropriate.

•Explore and develop potential partners in the Jewish and general St. Louis community in planning of programming such as Jewish organizations, galleries, museums, and other religious and cultural institutions. Work in conjunction with JCC Development Department to explore opportunities for sponsorship and grants. Ensure all work follows Development Department protocol.

•Create, cultivate and work with volunteer committees in the planning of new programming. Foster the development of an engaged and active committee. Work with JCC Volunteer Coordinator to ensure all policies are followed.

•Manage associated program budget

•Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications:

•BA in education, art, community organizing, social work or related field, Master’s preferred

•5 years or more experience as professional or volunteer leader in communal work or related field

•Knowledge of the Jewish community, topics, and cultural events preferred.

•Strong written and oral communications skills required.

•Must have well developed organizational skills

•Computer Literacy is required, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access).
