Superhighway to The Chuppah:
Frumster.com Opens It’s ‘Net to All Jews

At Frumster.com, you’ll find all kinds of Jews seriously seeking that special someone. It could be the bagel-and-lox Jew or a “New” Jew; some whose interests are blowing the ram’s horn, or some who like going to Ram’s games.

Don’t be fooled by the website name “Frumster” either --  you don’t have to be “frum” to register. Jews of all stripes and backgrounds have found a place on the Internet’s premiere place for marriage-minded members of the tribe.

Frumster has garnered a solid record of matching clients for marriage at least once every other day for the past six years. Thus far, Frumster has facilitated more than 800 marriages, and counting.
The site has recently introduced a patented voice-messaging option that allows people to personalize their profiles with their favorite song, a greeting, or another audio of their choice.

“It’s a lifeline for Jews in smaller communities looking for a soulmate,” says Derek Saker, Frumster’s Director of Development. “It’s one of the best means to meet people if you live outside of the major metropolitan areas of New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and New Jersey.”

Take Keren and Gabe, a local couple who met via Frumster. Gabe came to New York, from St. Louis, to work and to socialize and to date.
“We actually have several friends in common in several different circles, but we had never met,” she says. “Though we would later discover that we had actually seen each other once before meeting from Frumster.”

Gabe used to use Frumster, but had never actually met someone from it. He immediately saw Keren’s profile and was smitten.

According to Keren, it was his playful flirting that got her attention. “He asked random questions like, 'If you could be any smurf, which one and why? How do you feel about watermelon? What is your favorite Popsicle? What’s the deal with eggplant? How many times a day do you yawn?'” she recalls. They were Frumster match #129, and married on August 9, 2004.

Then there’s another local couple, Rina and Ilan Davidovici. “Our goals in life were similar. She had depth, caring and emotion, all conveyed through her profile,” says Ilan. “Little did I know that the previous week Rina and her roommate had printed out a handful of potential profiles from Frumster.” One of those profiles was Ilan.

After two weeks of long emails and late night conversations, Ilan and Rina were engaged. They were Frumster match #73, married on November 16th, 2003.
