Chabad at Wash. U.?
There's an App for That!

St. Louis, MO -- College students looking for information about the programs offered by Chabad at Washington U. now  have an easier way to do so using a newly-launched app for the iPhone.

The free Chabad WUSTL app is a one stop guide to enable hundreds of students to have up-to-the-minute information right in at their fingertips. The App contains a continually updated guide to events, and a thought for the day. The App also empowers users to donate, and provides an easy way for students to RSVP for events and to interact with Chabad professionals.

According to Rabbi Hershey Novack, director of the Chabad at Wash. U.,  it was an easy choice to develop and launch an iPhone mobile App.

"We have many dozens of events each semester.  This App will connect students about each one, wherever they are,” Novack says . “We intend to enable this to be added to, upgraded and improved.   There'll always be a reason to keep checking back and seeing what's new, while also promoting a dialogue among students.”

The App is currently available on the iPhone platform.

Novack says he does not rule out future versions of the App being available for other platforms as well.

"We'll watch our overall traffic closely and if we see a demand for other platforms.  We definitely want to respond to our students, and I can see this continuing to build and grow," he says.

Founded in 2002, Chabad on Campus develops accessible and meaningful Jewish experiences for members of the Washington University community and other St. Louis area campuses. The organization offers a student-centered approach with programs that provides multiple points of entry for Jewish students to connect to the Jewish community in a comfortable environment.  Additionally, the full-time staff members provide guidance and referrals to numerous young people.

The network of Chabad on Campus centers has an enviable track record of effectively engaging a diverse range of college students. Today, a majority of campus rabbis in America and around the globe are Chabad-trained.
